88.3 WAFJ's Christmas Cheer Tour

 Christmas Cheer Tour

Join John and Cleve from the 88.3 WAFJ morning show on the road on Wednesdays in December for the Christmas Cheer Tour. You can bring Christmas cheer to victims of domestic violence who are being helped by SafeHomes of Augusta, and we'll bring the spirit of the season to you with our "Please Wish Me A Merry Christmas" stickers and prize giveaways.

SafeHomes
SafeHomes' mission is to transform victims of domestic violence into survivors. Each year, an estimated three to four million women of all ages, occupations, and income levels are battered by their partners. Physical assault, however, is only one of several forms domestic violence can take. Women involved in violent relationships also endure psychological and emotional abuse, sexual assault, social isolation and intimidation. SafeHomes is combatting the problem by offering a 24-hour crisis line, safe shelter for victims and their children, emotional support and many other services.

At each stop on the Christmas Cheer Tour, we'll be collecting items to help the clients of SafeHomes. You can help by bringing any of the following:

unwanted cell phones (they'll be repurposed for 911 calls)
women's underwear and socks
children's underwear and socks
umbrellas
deodorant
high-efficiency type laundry detergent (He)
journals

88.3 WAFJ's Christmas Cheer Tour will stop at area Chick-fil-A  locations. All stops are from 12 to 2 pm.
