Seder Feast and Maundy Thursday Gathering at Grace UMC

The Seder, from the Hebrew word for order, is a celebratory meal which is steeped in long held traditions and customs. This special meal is usually eaten on the first two nights of Passover. The purpose of the Seder is to recall the dramatic and mirculous event which led to the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt. During the ritual and telling of the story, five symbolic foods that have been placed on a Seder Plate will be eaten. In addition, a delicious dinner will be served as come together connect with our Jewish heritage. A Maundy Thursday service of Word and Table will follow. There are opportunities for many people to be involved in this celebration that include: readers during the program, musicians, kitchen helpers, room decorators, and much more! If you just want to come to the program and eat, you can do that, too! This will be a ticketed event in the Wesley Center with a deadline to make your reservation by April 13.
