Pass It On

Thursday, September 28, 2023

View Full Post   It’s a report parents don’t like to hear during a meeting with their child’s teacher, “Your son is struggling with following directions and listening.” My grandson, Jett-Jacob, is two and tends to go to the beat of his own drum; He’s a typical toddler. He’s sweet, has a giant heart and a strong will. There are times when he struggles with doing what he's been asked to do when he's doing something he'd rather be doing. It can seem like he’s not paying attention when he’s being talked to, especially when he’s playing with his favorite toys, farm animals. His parents got a sweet confirmation the other day though, that he's soaking more into his heart and mind than they realize.

Wiped Out?

Wednesday, September 13, 2023

View Full Post   Last weekend I was absolutely wiped out! I’m the kind of person who can never sit still but I surrendered and spent my weekend taking several naps and lounging around my house. I don’t remember the last time I’ve done that. We all need to take a timeout from life (REST), and it felt great doing absolutely nothing. Do you feel tired and weary? Are you overwhelmed with challenges or burned out by long hours at work? Maybe you’re struggling with family and financial burdens. We all have something we’re wrestling with.

WWJD

Wednesday, August 30, 2023

View Full Post   If you love shopping at Aldi, like I do, then you’ve probably heard of the Aldi courtesy rule. It’s an unwritten rule but it’s something you’ll see practiced almost any time you go to check out. If you’re in line with a cart filled with groceries and the person behind you has only a few items, the courtesy is to insist that person goes ahead of you. It’s a simple way to show kindness to others.

Life Is Better With Jesus

Wednesday, August 16, 2023

View Full Post   As Seen on T.V. products...We’ve all seen those infomercials that try to convince us of gadgets to make our lives easier and more enjoyable. My husband discovered one of those items in the clearance isle at Walmart recently. I wasn’t so sure we needed it, but Mike insisted. It was a portable mini fan that you wear around your neck. I thought I might look a little cheesy wearing a fan, so I was hesitant. Honestly, would this thing really work? To my surprise, it was amazing! I've been wearing it outside when doing yard work and even around the house when I'm feeling a little warm. That fan is pretty nifty but something even better in my life is Jesus. I didn’t realize how much I needed the Lord until I pursued a relationship with Him 26 years ago.

A Lesson From A Toothache

Thursday, August 03, 2023

View Full Post   There’s something about tooth pain that is like no other. How can one little tooth cause so many issues?! Seriously! Recently, a tooth of mine was really bothering me. I tried to ignore it, but it seemed to be getting worse with time, so I surrendered and called my dentist. Going to the dentist is not my favorite thing to do, but I knew if I continued to ignore my issue, it was only going to get worse.

Popularity VS Good Character

Thursday, July 20, 2023

View Full Post   It’s almost time for a new school year to start. Where did the summer go?! Whether we send our kids out into the world of public or private school or have the privilege of teaching them at home, you want them to do well, not just academically but socially as well. One key component of that is them being able to successfully navigate the relationships they encounter on a daily basis, especially at school.

He Is Our LIFEguard

Thursday, July 06, 2023

View Full Post   The other day I was enjoying an afternoon at the pool, watching a lifeguard give a little girl a swimming lesson. Grandma and grandpa were nearby but they seemed to completely trust the young lady teaching their granddaughter in the deep end. The little girl couldn’t touch the bottom and could barely hold her head above water, but the bond of trust was evident.
