Time to Check Your Heart

Wednesday, February 05, 2025

View Full Post   This is the month where there are pink and red hearts everywhere you look. It's a reminder to love on those closest to us, but also to love others as God loves us. That’s not always an easy task though. Sometimes we have walls up and fracture relationships from being hurt in the past. That's why it's a good idea to check your heart from time to time.

White as Snow

Wednesday, January 22, 2025

View Full Post   From hurricanes to snowstorms, the weather in the CSRA has been anything but typical over the last few months. No doubt, God has been keeping us on our toes and reminding us of His goodness! Nothing paints the earth more beautifully than a fresh blanket of white snow and serves as the perfect analogy as to how Jesus can erase the muddy spots in our lives.

New Year-New You

Tuesday, January 07, 2025

View Full Post   Happy New Year! Are you looking forward to 2025 with excitement as you say goodbye to the challenges of 2024? As we begin this new year, most of us see the "new" as an opportunity to do away with the old. We replace diets, habits and routines. Sometimes we’re not replacing anything but try something for the first time. Ideally, we move toward the new year looking forward to better things. The truth is, we don’t actually have to wait for a new year to improve ourselves though. We shouldn’t. Jesus said that our life is, but a “mist,” here today and gone tomorrow (James 4:14). That means our time is limited.

Jesus is Reason for Christmas and Every Season In Between

Tuesday, December 17, 2024

View Full Post   After a month of rushing around trying to get everything ready to celebrate Christmas, it’s time to take down the decorations and the tree. After a big build up, for some, it leaves them feeling a little sad to take down the tree and others feel a sense of relief that the stress of the season is over. Here’s the thing though, it’s not truly over.

April's Advent Cheese Calendar 2024

Wednesday, December 11, 2024

View Full Post   April was born and raised in Wisconsin. Since moving to the South seven years ago, she's enjoyed introducing WAFJ listeners and John, her co-host, to her love of cheese. You can see the selections they tried on the Morning Show and find them in local stores to try as well. Plus, she's added some of her own FAVORITE selections for you to make a charcuterie board for the holidays.

Jesus is our Light

Tuesday, December 10, 2024

View Full Post   I love decorating for the holidays but putting up Christmas lights drives me crazy. Even new lights, fresh out the box, seem to be my demise. No matter how careful I try to be, a strand of lights in my hands can become a disastrous ball of chaos in minutes. Ironically, I’m the human version of tangled Christmas lights. I’m guessing there are moments when you can relate to me, especially this time of year.

Grief & Gratitude

Thursday, November 21, 2024

View Full Post   We have a beautiful family photo hanging in our dining room that warms my heart and pains it at the same time. In the center of the photo is my husband’s parents. We took the photo two years ago when we were visiting them in Wisconsin as my father-in-law battled lung cancer. Last March he went home to Jesus. Our family has been trying to emotionally prepare for another holiday season without him. We’re learning that even though it hurts to no longer have him with us, we are still grateful for so many blessings. If you’re struggling, grief and gratitude can co-exist in your spirit too.
