Seasons Change, God Doesn't

Fall is officially here, at last! Tere’s something about fall that stirs up reflection. Maybe it’s the leaves turning, the cooler breeze in the air, or the early setting sun — but this season reminds us that change is inevitable. And if we’re honest, most of us don’t love change (I sure don't!) It disrupts comfort, forces us into unknowns, and stretches our faith. But when we look at the natural world, it’s clear: God uses every season for something good.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NLT) says, “For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.” That includes the joyful moments and the difficult transitions — the seasons we want to hold onto and the ones we’re desperate to leave behind. God is at work in all of it. Just like the trees let go of their leaves to make room for new growth, we sometimes have to release what’s familiar so God can bring something fresh.

Change can feel like loss, but it’s often preparation. A job change, a move, an empty nest, or even spiritual growth that comes through struggle — these aren’t just random disruptions. They are invitations to trust the One who never changes. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8, NLT). In a world of shifting seasons, we can find security in Him.

If you're in a season of change right now, let this be your reminder: just because it’s uncomfortable doesn’t mean it’s unproductive. God sees what you can’t. He’s not surprised by what’s shifting in your life — He’s using it. Fall reminds us that letting go can be beautiful. And with God, every season has a purpose.
