Teacher Demonstrates The Power Of Words
Posted on Jun 20, 2024 by Jenny Bender
Natalie Ringold is a 4th-grade teacher who's teaching her students lessons that go beyond books. On the last day of school, Ms. Ringold used a tube of toothpaste to share an important lesson about the power of words. She emphasized that if someone can't change something about themselves in 30 seconds or less, it shouldn't be mentioned to them.
As she spoke, she emptied a tube of toothpaste, which symbolized the words we speak. She then tried to put the toothpaste back into the tube, which obviously didn't succeed, symbolizing words that can't be taken back once spoken.
"I reminded my students that we did this lesson on the last day of school because I want them to remember this concept for the rest of their lives!" she said. "It's important to remember that we are responsible for the our words & actions and that we choose what to put out into the world."
