Summer SONshine

As the sun shines brighter and the days stretch longer, summer invites us to pause and soak in the beauty around us. It’s a season that seems to slow down just a bit, allowing us to breathe deeply and enjoy the simple pleasures of life—be it a picnic in the park, a stroll on the beach, or simply time spent with loved ones. In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, these moments remind us of God’s goodness and the joy He brings into our lives. James 1:17 tells us, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above,” and summer is a beautiful reminder of all the blessings He pours out on us.
But summer isn’tjust about the fun and sun; it’s also a time of growth. Flowers & vegetables are sprouting, and just like they need water and sunlight to thrive, our souls need nourishment through prayer and Scripture. Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Nothing refreshes our soul like Jesus!
We might also find that summer brings challenges—perhaps a change in routine or unexpected trials. During these times, it’s essential to lean on God’s strength. He reminds us in Isaiah 41:10, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you.” No matter what comes our way, we can rest assured that He’s right there beside us, offering comfort and support. Just as the sun rises each morning, His mercy is new every day. We can trust Him to help us face whatever we encounter.
The temperatures may be warm, but so is the love of Jesus, and we can share that with those around us all year long! Whether it’s through acts of kindness, encouraging words, or simply being present for a friend, we can reflect His light in a world that often feels dark. As you take time to enjoy God's creation, also take time to grow closer to the Creator. Remember, Matthew 5:16 encourages us, “Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Shine bright this summer!
