As our patient population grows throughout the CSRA, we are in search of a caring and competent Billing/Patient Accounts Manager to join our team! Position Overview: The Billing/Patient Accounts Manager oversees and executes day-to-day patient accounting operations, including contracting, credentialing, coding, billing, and collections activities associated with the provision of all adult, pediatric, behavioral health, and dental services offered at Christ Community. By working under the Chief Financial Officer and in collaboration with other key stakeholders, the ultimate goal for this position is to maximize patient service revenue while providing excellent customer service to patients and staff. Key responsibilities include: * Ensuring claims, denials, and appeals are processed in a timely and accurate manner, consistent with all legal and contractual requirements and industry best practices * Collaborating with patient registration teams to manage point-of-service collections and patient balances, in efforts to capture demographic/insurance information, and to assess patient eligibility for Medicaid or other coverage/discounts * Collaborating closely with the accounting team to contribute to cash reconciliation activities and to assist in the assessment of accounts receivable collectability and valuation, including the writing off of bad debts * Contributing to credentialing and enrollment processes, including the maintenance of provider numbers and other credentialing/enrollment information, to ensure that provider participation with payors is accurate and completed without delay * Troubleshooting, designing, testing, and executing necessary changes and enhancements to employee health records setup, function, and workflows; in a way that contributes to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the practice management platform within the electronic health records system * Championing continual revenue cycle improvements driven by trend and data analysis through educated and engaged collaboration with a variety of stakeholders


Qualifications:
What we’re looking for in a candidate: * Eager and able to embody our mission, vision, and core values * Able to demonstrate love, compassion, and genuine care when interacting with others * Advanced knowledge of medical terminology, insurance terminology, and payment collection practices * Exceptional interpersonal communication skills * Tenacious critical thinking and problem-solving skills with exceptional integrity * Strong overall computer skills with meaningful experience utilizing Microsoft Excel and working within an EHR platform * At least (8) years of billing/coding experience in a primary care setting * At least (3) years in a supervisory role * At least (2) years of demonstrated success contributing to the support and setup of a practice management system * Experience working with eClinicalWorks and being in an FQHC setting is preferred * Extensive knowledge of medical coding rules and guidelines, including intimate familiarity with CPT and ICD-10.
